Linux – adding network drive

I am new to linux and recently started using it for a project. Here are some steps to link to a network drive automatically on system startup (like map network drive in Windows)

Goto /media
cd /media
create directory in /media:
sudo mkdir ravidir
install cifs-utils if needed
edit /etc/fstab
sudo gedit /etc/fstab
Add the following line with the correct server name, foldername, username and password in fstab.
//servername/sharename /media/windowsshare cifs username=msusername,password=mspassword,iocharset=utf8,sec=ntlm 0 0
